The caper plant is a shrub that grows spontaneously on rocks and has simple leaves, pinkish flowers and<\/span><\/p>\n

oblong berry fruits.
\nWhen harvested, they have a deep green color. <\/span><\/p>\n

The buds, called capers, and the fruits, known as cucunci or caper fruits, are consumed of the plant.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both are preserved in oil, vinegar or salt.<\/span><\/p>\n

Origin from the Mediterranean basin.<\/span><\/p>\n

The properties are different including: diuretics, anti-inflammatories, anticancer.<\/span><\/p>\n

They are used a lot in cooking with meat and fish, in salads and in first courses.<\/span><\/p>\n
